Media Gateway 7400/15000
Overview
Nortel Media Gateway (MG) 15000/7400 is a packet voice solution delivering toll-quality voice on a carrier-grade, multiservice data platform. The MG 15000/7400 utilizes IP and/or ATM protocols to enable wireline and wireless service providers to migrate TDM voice trunking to a packet-based infrastructure. The MG 15000 and 7400 series are built on the Multiservice Switching (MSS) platforms. The MG 15000 serves as a high density IP trunk gateway for global VoIP applications, and since built on the MSS platform, can optionally provide multiservice data networking. The MG 7400 provides a lower density VoIP gateway and is ideally suited for carriers requiring a multiservice platform for VoIP trunking and data networking services.
