Point of Sale Reporting for Business Partners
Business Rules for Submitting Compliant POS
Format:
POS file must conform to the on-line template provided by Nortel.
The file submitted must follow the Nortel format and should not
be changed. The format integrity must be maintained. POS can be submitted
via EDI, web upload, or direct on-line entry. Web upload and on-line entry
can be done by accessing our POS Web Interface tool at http://www.nortel.com/espos.
Accuracy:
The required fields must contain end user information insuring typos are
corrected. Also, you must provide the correct Nortel part numbers
as it appears on the current price list. Your POS information must contain
sales out information generated from an invoice or shipment report. Nortel
will not accept purchase order reports as a POS reporting substitute.
Completeness:
The Nortel POS template has 45 fields. We would like Partners
to provide as many fields as possible, however the fields noted per the links below are
required (depending on geographic location and applicability). Partners
are responsible for providing POS information for each and every transaction.
Timeliness: Partner must identify how often it will report POS
information. Nortel would prefer daily or weekly submission,
but monthly is an option. The deadlines for each are as follows:
- Daily - must supply POS by midnight (GMT) for the previous day's sales.
- Weekly - must supply POS by midnight (GMT) Tuesday, for the previous week's.
- Monthly - must supply POS by midnight (GMT) by the 10th of the calendar month (i.e. October sales, due by midnight November 10th.)
