Registered Product configuration and testing notes for Total Access 900/900e Series with Application Server 5200 (fka MCS 5200)


The test effort verified a basic level of interoperability between the Adtran - Total Access 900/900e Series Multi-Service Access Gateway Release 14.2, and Nortel’s Multimedia Communication Server 5200 (MCS 5200) Release MCS9.1. This successful testing establishes the Adtran - Total Access Series as a Nortel registered product for the releases tested. Testing included basic communication and basic call functionality between the devices. It is the service provider’s responsibility to perform appropriate system and network integration of the Adtran Total Access Series with the MCS based on their network deployment requirements.

MCS 5200 Basic Testing
-Basic Communication using SIP
-Basic Calls between Total Access 900 User Agents and calls to the PSTN
-Basic Calls between Total Access 900 and MCS Endpoints

-Basic Call Waiting (Multiple Call Support)
-MCS Specific Test Cases
-Basic Call (with Video if supported)
-Long Call Duration
-Call Branding
-Basic Hold and Retrieve - 3PSL behind NAT
-Hold and Retrieve with Music on Hold
-Basic Call Transfer
-Meet-Me Conference
-Meet-Me Conference Chairperson
-Voice Mail: Depositing a voicemail message
-Voice Mail: Retrieving a voicemail

Test Exclusions:

-Redundancy, carrier grade, and traffic or robustness scenarios were not tested as these fall outside of basic interop testing.
-Voice quality was only checked through audible means between parties.

Limitations, Restrictions and Other Observations:

-   The Adtran Total Access Gateway does not support client-based nor network-based 3-Way Calling.
