Registered Product configuration and testing notes for 500-Series ONT by Calix Networks, Inc. with Communication Server 2000


The test effort verified a basic level of interoperability between the Calix 500 Series ONT with F5 OLT release 3.0.2 and FD OLT release 9.0.0, and Nortel’s Communication Server 2000 (CS 2000) Release SN09U. This successful testing establishes the Calix 500 Series ONT as a Nortel registered product for the releases tested. Testing included basic communication and basic call functionality between the devices. It is the service provider’s responsibility to perform appropriate system and network integration of the Calix 500 Series ONT with the CS 2000 based on their network deployment requirements.


Nortel testing included:

Basic Communication using SIP

Basic Calls between SIP ONT User Agents and calls to the PSTN

CS 2000 Feature Testing
-Calling Name and Number Delivery
-Calling Name and Number Delivery Blocking
-Basic Call Hold and Retrieve
-Basic Call Waiting

Test Exclusions:

Redundancy, carrier grade, and traffic or robustness scenarios were not tested as
these fall outside of basic interop testing.
Voice quality was only checked through audible means between parties.

Limitations, Restrictions and Other Observations:


Calix 500 Series ONT does not support Basic Call Transfer.
Calix 500 Series ONT does not support Basic Conference
No MCS testing was executed.
