Compatible Product configuration and testing notes for MALC Access Concentrator / SLMS by Zhone Technologies, Inc. with Communication Server 1500


This re-certification test effort verified a basic level of interoperability between the Zhone MALC Access Concentrator product release 1.13.2.323 and Nortel’s CS 1500 product release 2.0. This successful testing establishes the Zhone MALC Access Concentrator as a Nortel compatible product for the release(s) tested. Testing included basic communication and basic call functionality, and some feature testing between the between the devices. It is the service provider’s responsibility to perform appropriate system and network integration of the Zhone MALC Access Concentrator product with the CS 1500 based on their network deployment requirements.

Limitations, Restrictions and Other Observations:
-Direct Transfer to a busy line leaves the transfered party on hold
-Conference Link before Answer reconnects original callers and stops ringing at station to have been added.

For a list of executed test cases, a test report is available
- Redundancy, carrier grade, and traffic or robustness scenarios were not tested as these fall outside of basic
interop testing.
- Voice quality was only checked through audible means between parties.
