Compatible Product configuration and testing notes for USB Analog Terminal Adapter (ATA) by Algo Communication Products Ltd. with Communication Server 1000 E/M


This product is compatible with Communication Server 1000 (CS 1000) when used with Maintenance Release 254 or higher of Release 2.0 of the Nortel IP Softphone 2050.

Testing with CS 1000 Release 5.0 was conducted using Nortel IP Softphone 2050 Release 2.0 Maintenance Release 255.

Product changes subsequently introduced in CS 1000 Release 5.5 were deemed by Nortel to have no impact on interoperability and compatibility of the USB Analog Terminal Adapter with CS 1000 Release 5.5 when used with Maintenance Release 254 or higher of Release 2.0 of the IP Softphone 2050.

The following features were tested with CS 1000 Release 5.0 and IP Softphone 2050 Release 2.0 Maintenance Release 255:

    - Basic Call Features : Caller ID, DTMF (Voicemail interaction)
    - Split Control : Call Hold, Message Retrieval, Transfer, Conference
    - Peripheral Testing : FAX, Modem, External Lamp, TTY, Doorphone

The tests were performed using the following Nortel platforms:

    - Nortel Communication Server 1000, Release 5.00W
    - Nortel IP Softphone 2050 Release 2.0 Maintenance Release 255

FAX support
    - T.38 fax is not supported in cases where virtual trunks (SIP or H.323) are used.
    - FAX calls using the USB Analog Terminal Adaptor with Nortel IP Softphone 2050 Rel. 2.0 Maintenance Release 255
      running on a VISTA operating system do not work due to outstanding Nortel issue Q01819199.
