Compatible Product configuration and testing notes for IPCS 210/310/410/510 by Sipera Systems with Communication Server 2100


Testing was conducted with the IPCS™ acting as a SIP security appliance and Session Border Control for SIP trunks between the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and the Enterprise Communication Server 2100 (CS 2100) operating with version SE10.

While SIP is capable of many different forms of communication, the compatibility testing was performed using voice only, and as a result this Certificate of Compatibility covers voice only.

The testing configuration included:
-Two CS 2100s with SIP trunking
- Protocol: UDP and TCP
- A Contivity 1100 used as Consumer/Enterprise Network Address Translation (NAT) Traversal device for the Access environment in Use Case 2

The Sipera IPCS™ products have been tested in a Nortel lab and are designated as compatible with Communication Server 2100 SE10 for the following Use Cases only:

1. CS 2100--------SIPERA IPCS™--------NO NAT device-------CS 2100
2. CS 2100-----SIPERA IPCS™------Enterprise NAT device----CS 2100

Each Use Case includes the following:
- Basic Calls
- Hold and retrieve
- Network-wide Call Park and Retrieval
- Voice Mail
- Call Transfer
- 3-Way Conference (both on Enterprise and on Peer side)
- Call Forwards
- Message Waiting Indication

T.38 fax is not supported due to issues encountered during compatibility testing. If T.38 fax is required, then further inquiry about solutions or alternatives should be explored. Contact your Sipera or Nortel representative for updates.

G.711 fax is not supported due to issues encountered during compatibility testing. Please contact your Sipera or Nortel representative for the latest information about solutions or workarounds.
