Compatibility with Communication Server 1000 (CS 1000) is dependent on interface with user’s Nortel IP Softphone 2050 Rel. 2.0 Maintenance Release 254 or later.

Testing with CS 1000 release 5.0 was conducted using Nortel IP Softphone 2050 Rel. 2.0 Maintenance Release 255.

The following features were tested:

    - Basic Call Features : Caller ID, DTMF (Voicemail interaction)
    - Split Control : Call Hold, Message Retrieval, Transfer, Conference
    - Peripheral Testing : FAX, Modem, External Lamp, TTY, Doorphone

The tests were performed on the following Nortel platform:

    - Nortel Communication Server 1000, Release 5.00W

FAX support
    - T.38 fax is not supported in cases where virtual trunks (SIP or H.323) are used.
    - FAX calls using the USB Analog Terminal Adaptor with Nortel IP Softphone 2050 Rel. 2.0 Maintenance Release 255
      running on a VISTA operating system do not work due to outstanding Nortel issue Q01819199.
