Compatible Product configuration and testing notes for IntelliSPEECH® by SDC Solutions, Inc. with Communication Server 1000 E/M
1. Tcmsetup was used to establish communication between the TAPI server and the IntelliDESK client machine. The flow of messages between the TAPI server and the IntelliDESK client machine was extremely slow (sometime at around 13 seconds to see a state change). A workaround identified in Bulletin 2005005654 TAPI CLIENT COMMUNICATION SLOW IN RESPONDING TO ACTIONS AND IN UPDATES. was implemented (For full details see Appendix D for the bulletin). This workaround was successful in speeding up the flow of messages between the TAPI server and the IntelliDESK client machine.
2. Tcmsetup was used to establish communication between the TAPI server and the IntelliDESK client machine. This protocol will not be suported in CC 7.0. In CC 7.0, the SDK APIs need to be used to communicate with the TAPI/CCT server. As per the Sales and Marketing Bulletin Number: SM-2006-0067-Global-Rev1(Date: December 15th 2006, page 3):
It should also be noted that support for legacy TAPI and IPML based applications (ActiveX only) will be phased out with the next major Release of CCT (ie CCT 6.0 will be the last release to support these applications) so advance planning should be undertaken by customers with these applications and integrations to ensure that they can undertake a timely and successful migration to CCT.
3. A domain user with administrative priviliges was necessarily used to logon the Telephony Service on the CCT server. If a local admnistrator or a domain user outside the domain administrators group is logged on to the Telephony Service, IntelliDESK will not see the TN.
4. A domain user with administrative privileges was necessarily used to logon to the CCT server. If a local administrator or a domain user outside the domain administrators group is logged in, IntelliDESK will not see the TN.
