Compatible Product configuration and testing notes for ARRIS Touchstone Telephony Modem TM501/2 by ARRIS International with Communication Server 2000


The test effort verified a basic level of interoperability between the ARRIS TM501a/b, and TM502a/b/g/h MTA Release TS050050B_111606_NA.MODEL_4_5.TELNET_ON, and Nortel’s Communication Server 2000 (CS 2000) Release SN09U. This successful testing establishes the ARRIS. - TM501a/b, and TM502a/b/g/h MTA as a Nortel Compatible product for SN09U. Testing included basic communication and basic call functionality between the devices. It is the service provider’s responsibility to perform appropriate system and network integration of the ARRIS devices with the CS 2000 based on their network deployment requirements.

Test Exclusions:

Nortel did not test redundancy, carrier grade, or traffic as this falls outside of basic interoperability testing. Voice quality was only checked through audible means between parties.

AAL1 interworking is not supported in a Nortel PacketCable Solution and is excluded from this project

G.729/G.729a, RFC2833, and Comfort Noise are NOT supported in the Nortel PacketCable Solution for SN09U. These tests are excluded from this project.
