Compatible Product configuration and testing notes for nCite SBC by AudioCodes Inc. with Communication Server 2000

The test effort verified a basic level of interoperability between the Audiocodes - nCite SBC Release 3.4.2 and Nortel’s Communication Server 2000 (CS 2000) Release SN09U SIP Lines environment. This successful testing establishes the Audiocodes - nCite SBC as a Nortel compatible product for the releases tested. Testing included basic communication and basic call functionality between the devices. It is the service provider’s responsibility to perform appropriate system and network integration of the Audiocodes nCite SBC with the CS 2000 based on their network deployment requirements.

Observations/Open Issues:
=====================

Notify messages sent after REFER must contain the Contact header. This issue causes call transfer while ringing, direct call transfer and three way calling from the originator to fail. Nortel CR Q01588296 is open to track this issue.

603 DECLINE is not passed through the SBC. PC Clients are unable to decline incoming calls until this issue is resolved. Customer CR 24710 is open to track this issue.

SBC did not allow PC Client to receive Service Package. While not an issue for SIP clients without a Service Package, impacts for the PC Client included:

Calls offering additional media were not executed

Call Hold - Single Call Hold and Retrieve was not executed

Terminator originated three way call was not executed

Party C Treatment/Early Media, Endpoint controlled conferencing and Link Before Answer conferencing were not tested since neither the Cisco phones, nor the PC Clients available in the lab for testing support Link Before Answer. Cisco does not support conferencing of more than two calls.
