Compatible Product configuration and testing notes for TANDBERG MXP Video Conferencing Systems Family by Tandberg Inc with Multimedia Communication Server 5100


- Nortel testing included client registration, features and feature interactions, basic calls (call originations and terminations), call hold/retrieve, call screening, meet-me audio conference, name and number presentation / restriction, DTMF.
- MXP testing with MCS 5100 included interactions with the MXP embedded MCU functionality (MultiSite), enabled by an option key. The MultiSite option is not available on the 550 MXP, 770 MXP and 1000 MXP.
- The TANDBERG MXP does not support the G.729 audio codec; only G.711 audio codec is supported with MCS 5100 and the TANDBERG MXP ptime is always 20ms.
- CS 1000, CallPilot, and Converged Desktop clients were not within the scope of testing.
- MCS MMPC client features of Picture ID, Presence, Sharing (Send File, Clipboard, Whiteboard), and Chat are not supported by the TANDBERG MXP.
- DTMF testing was based on in-band DTMF; the Nortel INFO method for DTMF is not supported by the TANDBERG MXP.
- TANDBERG MXP point-to-point video compatibility with the MCS Multimedia PC (MMPC) client is based on H.263. MCS Media Application Server (MAS) video conferencing applications with TANDBERG MXP are not supported; however the TANDBERG MXP can be an audio-only participant in an MCS MAS based audio conference.
- The following MMPC call redirections are not supported by the MXP:
o Manual redirection (both with or without a reason)
o Redirection using personal agent, sequential and/or simultaneous
o Call forward to voice mail
- There may be one way voice path after hold and retrieve between the MCS client and MXP.
- MXP calls to users with multiple logins are not supported for the MCS MMPC client.
- Music on Hold may not work in the absence of Border Control Point (F/K/A RTP Media Portal).
- MXP without embedded MCU feature can only transfer MCS MMPC client calls. Call transfer initiated by MXP without embedded MCU to an MXP with embedded MCU is not supported in this release.
