The Nortel WLAN 2300 solution integrates with the AirDefense security solution in the following ways:

1.   Using WLAN 2300 CLI or Wireless Management System (WMS), Nortel Access Points can be converted into AirDefense sensors and back. Once converted Nortel Access Points can report information about possible threats or intrusions to an AirDefense appliance.

2.   WMS can be configured to receive SNMP traps from an AirDefense appliance. These traps can be correlated to alarms and viewed and managed in WMS’s Alarms view.

3.   The AirDefense appliance user interface can be directly accessed from WMS.

4.   AirDefense sensors can be added to a WMS network plan. WMS can determine the number of AirDefense sensors required for an area and place them on a floor plan.

The interoperability described above was tested with the following hardware and software components:

Note that AirDefense Appliance 2270 is no longer available and has been replaced with AirDefense Appliance 4250 effective Jan 1, 2008
