Compatible Product configuration and testing notes for 1460 Session Controller by Newport Networks Limited with Application Server 5200 (fka MCS 5200)


The test effort verified a basic level of interoperability between the Newport Networks - SBC 1460 Release 2.2.5, and Nortel’s Application Server 5200 (fka MCS 5200)Release MCS09. This successful testing establishes the Newport Networks - SBC 1460 as a Nortel registered product for the releases tested. Testing included basic communication and basic call functionality between the devices. It is the service provider’s responsibility to perform appropriate system and network integration of the Newport Networks SBC 1460 with the Application Server 5200 based on their network deployment requirements.

Test Exclusions

- Redundancy, carrier grade, and traffic or robustness scenarios were not tested as these fall outside of basic interop testing.
-   Voice quality was only checked through audible means between parties.


Observations/Open Issues/Exceptions:

- Newport 1460 does not support multiple registrations for the same user
- Calls fail for calls involving Nortel i200x. Nortel CR Q0418622 has been opened to track the issue.
