Compatible Product configuration and testing notes for 1104 Gateway by Mediatrix Telecom, Inc. with Communication Server 2000


The test effort verified a basic level of interoperability between the Mediatrix - 1102/1104/1124 Release 4.7 and Nortel’s Communication Server 2000 (CS 2000) Release SN08/SN09. This successful testing establishes the Mediatrix - 1102/1104/1124 as a Nortel compatible product for the releases tested. Testing included basic communication and basic call functionality between the devices. It is the service provider’s responsibility to perform appropriate system and network integration of the Mediatrix 1102/1104/1124 with the CS 2000 based on their network deployment requirements.

Test Exclusions:
Redundancy, carrier grade, and traffic or robustness scenarios were not tested as
these fall outside of basic interop testing.
Voice quality was only checked through audible means between parties.

Observations/Open Issues:
Fax calls between the Mediatrix GW and H.323 GW’s may fail on networks where G729 is the primary codec as the Mediatrix GW will autonomously change to the G.711 codec before the CS 2000 has instructed the H.323 GW and the Mediatrix GW to do so.
