Compatible Product configuration and testing notes for Desktop Assistant 90 / Personal Communication Manager by Counterpath Solutions with Multimedia Communication Server 5100
- The scope of testing included registration and authentication, registration forking, audio call origination, audio call termination, multiple call originations and terminations, multiple call terminations, SIP response handling for calls, call hold and retrieve, mid-call codec negotiations, call forward using endpoint, call forward using CPL, call transfer direct, call transfer with consultation, call decline, call ignore, call forking simring/sequential ringlist, call park, click-to-call, DTMF transport and reliability, MAS announcements, MAS Music on Hold (MOH), and CallPilot voicemail interactions.
- For MCS 5100 meet-me conferencing, there is no voice path for the NewHeights PCM client if it joins the meet-me conference using the G.729 codec, nor can the NewHeights PCM client execute meet-me conference commands when using G.729. Recommendation is to use the G.711 codec with the NewHeights PCM client by ensuring that Connection Speed is set to high, which is a default configuration.
- The NewHeights PCM client voice path is choppy when executing meet-me conference commands using the G.711 codec.
- The NewHeights PCM client cannot transmit DTMF after a meet-me conference call or after CallPilot voicemail is put on/off hold.
- There are bursts of noise (including some DTMF tones) when Voice Activity Detection (VAD) & comfort noise is enabled and G.711 A-law is used on the NewHeights PCM client. Recommendation is to disable VAD & comfort noise in the NewHeights PCM client.
- A second call transfer attempt by the NewHeights PCM client fails if the initial transfer was to an invalid number.
- NewHeights PCM client echo cancellation does not handle double-talk. Recommendation is to disable echo cancellation in the NewHeights PCM client.
- The NewHeights PCM client does not support MCS 5100 Music-on-Hold (MOH ) and the PCM cannot be put on hold with MOH enabled. Recommendation is to not provision MOH in the MCS 5100 Service Package for NewHeights PCM client accounts.
