Compatible Product configuration and testing notes for 1460 Session Controller by Newport Networks Limited with Communication Server 2000


The test effort verified a basic level of interoperability between the Newport Networks 1460 Session Border Controller release 2.2.3, and Nortel’s Communication Server 2000 (CS 2000) Release SN09U and Nortel’s Compact Server 2000 Release SN08. The Newport Networks 1460 was configured as the SBC for SIP trunks between two CS 2000s, one on Release SN08, the other on Release SN09FF. This successful testing establishes the Newport Networks 1460 Session Border Controller as a Nortel compatible product for the releases tested. Testing included basic communication and basic call functionality between the devices. It is the service provider’s responsibility to perform appropriate system and network integration of the Newport Networks 1460 SBC with the CS 2000 based on their network deployment requirements.
