Compatible Product configuration and testing notes for eyeBeam (Mac OS X) by Counterpath Solutions with Multimedia Communication Server 5100

- The scope of compatibility testing included audio calls, point-to-point video calls, IM, conference, transfer, caller ID, message waiting indication, in-band DTMF, firewall traversal, and hold/retrieve.
- MCS implementations of DTMF via SIP INFO, Picture ID, Presence, Sharing (Send File, Clipboard, Whiteboard), and Chat are not supported by eyeBeam.
- eyeBeam initiated blind call transfer is not supported.
- IM exchanges involving the eyeBeam client are not encrypted.
- eyeBeam point-to-point video compatibility with the MCS MMPC client is based on H.263. MCS Media Application Server (MAS) video conferencing applications with eyeBeam are not supported; however eyeBeam can be an audio only participant in an MCS MAS based conference.
- eyeBeam supports 10ms and 20ms p-time values defaulting to 20ms for other values (asymmetric p-time).
- eyeBeam supports the G729 audio codec, however this was not within the scope of testing.
- When eyeBeam places the audio/video call with Nortel MMPC client on hold, the eyeBeam client is not able to retrieve the video portion of the call.
- eyeBeam supports local ad hoc conferencing using the SIP REFER and REPLACES method which is not supported by the MCS Media Application Server (MAS).
- When eyeBeam recognizes an IP Address change (e.g. DHCP), it will send new Registration message with new IP Address. The known limitation is a missing un-Register message from the original (”old”) IP Address.
