Compatible Product configuration and testing notes for Application Feature Server by Sylantro Systems with Communication Server 2000
The test effort verified a basic level of interoperability between the Sylantro Application Feature Server, release 3.2.1 and the Nortel Communication Server 2000, SN08 (CS 2000). This successful testing establishes the Sylantro Application Feature Server as a Nortel compatible product for the releases tested. Testing included basic communication and basic call functionality between the devices. It is the service providers responsibility to perform appropriate system and network integration of the Sylantro Application Feature Server and with the CS 2000 based on their network deployment requirements.
Observations:
- Nortel does not support a blind transfer scenario at this time in SN08. Call will complete but parties will not hear ring back.
Nortel testing included:
Class 5 to Class 5 testing
- Basic Communication
- Line to Line (Basic Call Processing)
- Line to Trunk (Basic Call Processing)
- Line to Announcement
- Feature Interactions
- Call Failure/Exception Codes
- Audible Ring Back
- Complex Calls (Hold, Retrieve, Blind Transfer, etc)
- CLID and Privacy
- SDP and Codecs
Class 5 (Sylantro) to Class 4 (CS 2000) testing
- Line (Sylantro) to Trunk (CS 2000)
- Trunk (CS 2000) to Line (Sylantro)
- Feature Interactions
- Trunk (CS 2000) to Announcements (Sylantro MOH)
Not tested by Nortel:
- Redundancy
- Carrier grade
- Traffic
- Robustness
- Voice quality will only be checked through audible means between parties.
- Trunk to Trunk
- Nortel did send 180 Ringing to Invites, but not 183 Session Progress. Nortel can receive and process 183 Session Progress but will not send it as there are no devices currently on the Nortel side that will play out packet side ringing in the RTP media stream.
