Open Client Strategy for CS 2000 MGCP


As the world-wide leader in Voice over IP market share, Nortel recognizes the need for customers and vendors to be able to interoperate with the Communication Server 2000 (CS 2000).

Nortel is pleased to provide to approved applicants access to a documentation suite and a no charge license to customers and 3rd party application and product developers. The document suite provides guidelines and recommendations for those developing products that will need to interoperate with the CS 2000.

There are two options for those wishing to obtain the license and documentation:

MGCP Specification Only

If you only wish to download the MGCP Specification for review or development and you have no need for technical or Q/A support, you may complete a simple MGCP Spec request form.

Upon approval as an MGCP Interface Spec participant, and subsequent signature of the MGCP Interface Spec license agreement, you will receive all necessary information for accessing and downloading the specifications from the MGCP Specification download website.
Specification and Support

If you wish to download the MGCP Specification and also desire access to fee-based technical / Q&A support, lab access and related services for to support the development of Call Server 2000 compatible third party products, you may choose to apply for membership to the Nortel Networks Developer Program.
