The Carrier VoIP and Multimedia Developer Segment of the Nortel Developer Program is designed to accelerate the deployment of applications and IP services for next generation voice networks.

The program provides access to Nortel market leading, open, standards-based, Application Server 5200 and the Carrier VoIP Softswitch Portfolio, (including Communication Server 1500) and creates innumerable opportunities for member developers of products and solutions that utilize industry-standard protocols, including Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP), H.248, H.323 and PacketCable Network-based Call Signaling (NCS).
