Beginning Q307, Nortel will deliver technical documents on DVD
Beginning Q307, Nortel will deliver technical documents on DVD rather than on CD-ROM. DVDs will be shipped in conjunction with the following product releases; CVoIP release SN10, CDMA Access release 15, MTX release 15 and P-MSC release 15 (August release), GSM (MSCS, NGW, and HLR release 19), and IMS release 06. The goal of the DVD solution and recent enhancements to web-based documentation delivery via the Technical Support portal is to provide customers with easier access to Nortel Technical Documentation.

The benefits of the NTDA CD/DVD solution include:

> A single DVD will replace the multivolume CD-ROM sets that customers are accustomed to receiving in most cases. This is due to the increased capacity of the DVD storage media.
> DVDs will provide the flexibility needed to deliver new and enhanced multimedia solutions to customers in the future.
> The CD-ROM feature sets that customers are accustomed to will be unchanged with the introduction of DVDs.

During the DVD implementation phase, the CD-ROM option will still be available at an additional cost. DVD shipments will be coordinated with future product release schedules.

Will I receive DVDs for all of my Nortel content?
You will receive DVDs for products that currently have content spanning multiple CD volumes. For products requiring only one CD, you will not receive a DVD.

Do I need other software to read the DVDs from Nortel?
No, the NTDA CD/DVD application works regardless of the type of media you are accessing. Note that your PC must support reading DVDs.

When will I receive a DVD?
All Nortel documentation shipments are dependent on Nortel product releases. Nortel will begin shipping DVDs on applicable products in the second half of 2007.

Who do I contact to order CDs if I don't have a DVD reader?
To order Wireless (CDMA and GSM) and Wireline (VoIP) CDs, contact Nortel at 1-877-662-5669 or 615-432-4664.
