Communications Security -- ensuring information protection from unauthorized discovery over the network (VPN Gateway, VPN Router, Services Edge Router, Ethernet Routing Switch, Wireless Security Switch.)
Perimeter Security -- keeping the "good" stuff in and the "bad" stuff out by securing the boundaries between zones of different levels of trust (Switched Firewall, VPN Router Firewall, Application Switch, Threat Protection System).
