Well rounded individuals are ideal candidates. So what makes you well rounded? Strong academic achievement mixed with work experience and extra-curricular activities is the foundation of a well-rounded candidate.

When considering student and graduate candidates, various parts of their academic backgrounds are taken into account. These include grades, degree level, languages spoken, Awards/Scholarships, special projects, and, of course, the degree program. Nortel typically hires from the following types of programs:

• Engineering (i.e. software, electrical, computer systems, telecom, etc.)

Extra-Curricular Activities can be key differentiators for students. Being active in your school or community reveals a lot about your character and it helps you to develop skills that are very important to employers such as leadership, teamwork, communication, organization and time management.
