Tell me about yourself and your experience at Nortel?
My current assignment is to support sales teams in the region from a wireless technology, solution, and product perspective. I am involved in customer engagement on technology solutions, commercial structure/offers, positioning Nortel solutions. I work with all wireless technologies (CDMA, GSM, and soon UMTS)

What are your career aspirations?
To lead a business unit.

Can you describe your relationship with Management?
I have a good friendly relationship with my immediate manager and seek him out for advice on key matters, and also use him as a sounding board before making decisions.

I find that management in general is very open and accessible.

How do you compare Nortel to other companies or former employer(s)?
One of the best companies to work for. Lot of freedom to express your ideas and flexibility in how you get your work done. Nortel has always provided me with a lot of career options.

As an employee, what is it like to work at Nortel?
I find work at Nortel has always been challenging. And Nortel has always provided me with ample opportunities to grow in various areas. I joined Nortel in R&D, moved to Product management, then Marketing, and more recently regional marketing.

Nortel was instrumental in helping me through the executive MBA education, and also providing me with an opportunity to go on a sabbatical to work with Bell Canada International for a year. Great place to work and build a career provided you have the drive and the passion to do what you want to do.

How would you describe the working environment at Nortel?
Most large companies have different dynamics, and Nortel is a fun place to work. People are generally friendly and considerate. Despite the long hours in the region, it is still an exciting place to be.
