Nortel's Global Influence on Quality
Nortel continues its global influence on quality with its leadership role in the
QuEST Forum* (Quality Excellence for Suppliers of Telecommunications), a unique collaborative global forum of industry leaders established in 1998 to create a consistent set of quality system requirements that would apply to the telecommunications industry worldwide. Since the QuEST Forum's inception, Nortel has played a leading role in ensuring that it fulfills its mission to
'Create a telecommunications industry-leading quality system with standardized performance measurements and share best practices through industry collaboration.'
Nortel continues its leadership in the QuEST Forum and provides support in the form of contributors and leaders, who are subject matter experts, to develop and evolve requirements and measurement handbooks. The handbooks are used throughout the telecommunications industry by organizations wishing to implement an industry benchmark quality management system.
Nortel also has continued to support the global expansion of the QuEST Forum's influence, helping to establish 'hubs' in North America, Central and Latin America (CALA), Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Asia Pacific and Greater China. Nortel provides leadership to each of these hubs and has provided sponsorship and speakers to many of the inaugural meetings.
