May 20, 2005 - Furthering the company strategy to partner with other companies to speed solutions to market, Nortel and IBM announced a strategic development agreement to focus on business transformation, focused research, and collaborative innovation.




At the heart of the Nortel and IBM alliance is the Joint Development Center (JDC). The JDC is a small organization positioned to reach a new level of R&D collaboration and is chartered to generate new joint solutions more rapidly. The immediate focus of the JDC will be on a number of market-driven "project charters," aimed at enhancing and extending current technology offerings to meet customer needs.
