MZA Ranked Nortel Networks #1 in Unified Messaging in Europe for 2001
MZA, a high-tech industry research group, recently issued a report naming Nortel Networks* as the leading vendor in the unified messaging market in Europe for 2001. Nortel Networks achieved a 35 percent market share based on Nortel Networks CallPilot* unified messaging and Business Communications Manager products, the report said. “Today’s enterprises – large and small – need the ability to stay in touch with their customers and suppliers virtually anytime and from virtually anywhere,” said Peter Kelly, president, Enterprise Networks, Nortel Networks EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa). “CallPilot is now recognized as the leading choice in Europe for addressing this need. It positions businesses to redefine the way they communicate, and to maximize return on investment.” Nortel Networks CallPilot brings together voice mail, e-mail and fax to create a personalized, feature-rich communications management and messaging system, incorporating services such as advanced speech recognition and e-mail by phone. “As a global healthcare company, it is our business to provide critical therapies for people with life-threatening conditions,” said Sheila Drew, global voice and voice mail manager, Global Networks Group, Baxter Healthcare. “We believe we have the largest voice messaging network in the world. Getting time sensitive information around the world efficiently and effectively is one of our major challenges. There are now 16 CallPilots in our network, greatly improving the flow of time sensitive information. Voice is the communications tool of choice for all our senior management, so we need a platform we can rely on.” “The increased availability of converged product offerings has provided a strong platform for unified messaging systems,” said Peter Hale, senior analyst, MZA. “Small Medium Enterprises in particular are now able to take advantage of unified messaging as part of an integrated converged solution. Nortel Networks have been very successful in addressing this market with CallPilot.” Nortel Networks CallPilot portfolio including CallPilot for up to 20,000 users in a multi-site corporation using IP telephony; and two, scaleable, feature rich models designed to address the needs of small to medium customers – CallPilot Mini and CallPilot 150.
