Nortel Networks, BT Cellnet Announce Opening of Development, Testing CentresCompanies Working Together from Idea Stage Through to Market Introduction LONDON –Nortel Networks* [NYSE/TSE: NT] and BT Cellnet announced the start of collaborative work at facilities outside London dedicated to accelerated development of new Wireless Internet applications. BT Cellnet and Nortel Networks plan to work together with suppliers and subscribers on development of these new applications from the idea stage through testing and market introduction. The companies expect this effort to drive delivery of new Wireless Internet services that are both first-to-market and in line with subscriber demand. Plans call for development of services for delivery over GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) networks, with adaptation for use over UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) networks.
