Nortel Netaş, Turkey’s leading telecom infrastructure provider, was established in 1967 as a joint venture company between Turkish PTT and Northern Electric Company Limited (Nortel Networks Corporation) of Canada with the aim of supplying Turkey with locally manufactured telecommunications equipment.

Nortel Netaş has played a major role in the modernization of the Turkish civil and military telecommunications infrastructure by supplying approximately 10.5 million lines of switching equipment, transmission and data systems for Turk Telekom, designing and manufacturing military systems such as IFF, TASMUS and ruggedized switching for Turkish Armed Forces.

In the private communications market, Nortel Netaş has the largest share with 1.5 million PBX lines in more than 50,000 enterprise customers in various sectors. Over 1 million lines of Nortel Netaş equipment has been supplied to international customers.
