Commitment to Environment, Health and Safety
Certification to ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 offers stakeholders an assurance of commitment to systematic environment, health and safety management and a foundation for continual improvement. Nortel has a number of ISO 14001/ OHSAS 18001 registered sites in various regions around the world. Each registration is created specifically for the geographies in which the business units operate, which provides the foundation for EHS management within our businesses.

Internal Environmental Management
In addition to the certified locations, Nortel also requires each business and location to manage and maintain an EHS management system which parallels ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. Site-based internal Environmental Management Systems offer similar benefits to the environment, the people and the company as those locations which have obtained ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications.
